For our client, a large player in the Social Media, we are currently hiring a remote Public Policy Manager (f/m/d).
Tasks:
- Monitor Türkiye for policy issues at the intersection of technology, social media, and socio-economic development
- Identify, monitor and analyse relevant policy trends and issues of importance to the company and provide periodical updates to the leadership
- Help form company's positions on key policy issues such as AI, content moderation and freedom of speech to policymakers and to external stakeholders in Türkiye
- Support advocacy, internally and externally, on policy positions that keep the company and the broader technology industry competitive and innovative
- Cross-functionally work with internal stakeholders such as legal, business, comms and the broader policy teams
- Support building multistakeholder coalitions to help advance and support policies that facilitate innovation and technological development in Türkiye
- Help establish and maintain relationships externally with policymakers, industry leaders and civil society organizations in Türkiye
- Help develop and execute strategies for engaging with external policymakers and civil society leaders around issues important to the company and the people we serve
- Articulate the company's policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses and internal policy meetings
- Support internal teams on public policy matters to help guide the development of products, services and policies
- Manage operational works (handling contracts and purchase orders, keeping internal work-trackers updated, periodical reporting, etc)
Profile:
- A degree or advanced degree in a related field e.g public policy, law, politics, international relations, economics
- 3-5 years of professional experience, in policy, tech or similar field
- Knowledge and/or experience in tech policy issues such as artificial intelligence, privacy, content moderation, online safety, innovation and internet governance
- Keen understanding of political systems and relevant policy institutions in Türkiye
- Excellent judgement, communication and persuasive skills, creativity, perspective, the ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment
- Superb English and Turkish verbal and written communications skills
- Abilitytowork in a matrixenvironmentandcollaboratecrossfunctionally
