For our client, a leading multinational company in the oil and gas industry, we are seeking a Development Technologiest (f/w/m) for a temporary role based in Mönchengladbach, Germany.

The role of the Development Technologist is to create technically advanced and differentiated, first-class greases for the global market, in line with our growth ambitions and market needs. Development and modification projects are autonomously led in collaboration with the development team manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy
- Provides ideas for innovative products and technologies, in alignment with the global strategy, future trends, and market opportunities
- Develops strategic/technical partnerships with OEMs, additive manufacturers, industry working groups, and universities to stay informed about the latest additives, technologies, and processes
- Gathers knowledge on applications/processes and their impact on the chemical composition of Industrial lubricants, including competitor products in similar application areas
Planning
- Manages global innovation programs and projects, including regular project meetings with stakeholders
- Independently plans the time and costs for development work to ensure adherence to budget and timelines
- Supports research project implementation
Implementation / Execution
- Responsible for the execution, documentation, and reporting of development projects
- Supports customers and the departments of Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and regional Technology Teams with expert knowledge
- Advises and recommends on the implementation of technical customer requirements
Monitoring
- Provides high-quality documentation of development results and shares them with technology colleagues
- Monitors project progress in relation to proposed plans and milestones
- Oversees project resources, budget, and external expenditures
- Ensures compliance with HSSE and QM standards
Organization
- Responsible for representing projects outside of the department, for example, in Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and regional teams
Requirements:
Essential Education
- Degree or higher in Chemistry, or another relevant subject
Essential Experience and Job Requirements
- Experience in formulating products, preferably grease formulations and applications, as well as grease test methods.
- Relevant experience in the Lubricant Industry
Desirable Criteria & Qualifications
- Ability to solve problems independently and identify solutions
- Ability to learn quickly
German: At least B2 level, English: good to excellent oral and written skills
